ROUND TABLE IS NOW CHAPTERS CHAT – JOIN US FOR SHARING IDEAS, PROBLEM SOLVING, AND MEETING NEW FRIENDS!
The name has been changed to better describe what SDP is doing to help the chapters. Every three months or so there will be a Chapters Chat on Zoom. The chapter president will receive an email and notices will be on the Chapter’s Facebook page (SDP: Chapters Gathering) and other SDP sites.
All board members are invited to attend, and any chair people of your committees who might be interested in the topic. Our first Zoom chat was about year–end SDP forms, due dates, and prices.
The next Chapters Chat will be mid–March and the topic will be Fundraising; a subject near and dear to each chapter. We’ve been collecting ideas from Chapters and will discuss what everyone’s been doing. We’ll have ideas for small to large chapters. If you have an idea to share, send an email to Chapters@decorativepainters.org.
We look forward to seeing and talking to everyone on the Chapters Chat Zoom meeting.

VALENTINES BEAR – TIDEWATER DECORATIVE PAINTERS OF TIDEWATER, VIRGINIA
We really enjoyed the Tracy Moreau RAK design, Share the Love. We enlarged the design and painted on 11.5 inch hearts from the dollar store. Many of us let our free flag fly and made it our own. Our group is very creative!
DUMPSTER DIVA – YANKEE HERITAGE DECORATIVE ARTISTS OF WESTBOROUGH, MA
Dumpster Diva is when a member finds an old surface to paint on. It can be any kind of surface that can be painted on that they picked up at a yard sale, at Salvation Army, their mother’s attic or just an old piece they had painted years ago and stuck in the back of the closet. It just cannot be a new surface. They will take a picture of the piece before they do anything to it.
They will now paint it with a new fresh design. They will take this newly painted piece to our November meeting and display it next to the picture of the way it used to look.
The meeting attendees will look at the old way it looked and how it has been brought back to life and vote which piece they think is the best. The one with the most votes is crowned the “Dumpster Diva”.
It a fun thing to do and gets the membership involved at the meeting. We have not done it in a few years so crowning the new Diva will be fun. I think they get a sash with Dumpster Diva in gold letters too!
