SDP UPDATE SPRING 2022
Goodbye 2021 and welcome 2022!
It is an honor to be part of this special year of celebration – 50 years of the Society of Decorative Painters!
There is so much happening, and it has only begun. We kicked off this year with the January Retreat in Fredericksburg, Texas, I finally got to meet members and teachers in person. It was such a joy to experience firsthand the extraordinary creativity and talent everyone brings to the table. It was an inspiration to feel the energy in the air when many gather to create. I am reminded it is
the process that gives me such joy. I hope everyone can carve out time to try new things and revisit the comfort of the past.
We are abuzz in the office contacting everyone who has missed their renewal date, getting this beautiful magazine out to you in a timely manner, wrapping up and kicking off a new year of certification, and finalizing the finances of 2021, just to mention a few projects.
We have sent everyone a new membership card with this issue of The Decorative Painter, please make sure you save that for your records.
There are new and classic pattern packets made available to you each month from SDP and the SDP Foundation. Watch your email for the notice of release for each packet and make sure you get it and add a couple extra packets and a Zoom class just for fun.
August will bring the 50th Anniversary Celebration in Las Vegas and it will be an exciting time. For staff, we get to meet even more of you in person and be saturated with the joy of painting and creating.

Cheers to 50 years and the new family of sisters, aunts, and perhaps a few mother figures.
