  2015 CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS
The SDP 43rd Annual Conference & Expo drew over 400 individuals from nine countries, including the United States, Ar- gentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Japan, Mexico and Paraguay. The event was held May 11-16, 2015 at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, IL.
Attendees took over 110 classes offered and shopped the Expo floor, which featured 37 companies with products ranging from painting supplies to painting surfaces.
In addition, SDP partnered with CRE8TIME, a consumer awareness campaign designed to encourage creativity, to host SDP’s first ever Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 16. The event offered an inventive space for adults and children to use art as
a vehicle for bonding, creative expression and pure fun. Over 30 parents and children participated in crafting activities. Both SDP members and Family Fun Day attendees participated in “make it take it” classes that involved acrylics, fabric, paint and Etchall Etching Crème.
“The dedicated staff, teachers, vendors, committee members and volunteers outdid themselves,” said Wendy Watson, Presi- dent, SDP Board of Directors. “I am excited to be a part of the next chapter of SDP’s story.”
SDP members gathered at the Annual Meeting to elect Watson and 10 other indus- try professionals to the So- ciety’s 2015-2016 Board of Directors. Meet your new Board on the SDP Blog at decorativepainters. org/blog/?p=4961.
