This painting emerged as I was experimenting. I want- ed to play with the technique of sponging paint, spraying with water, and then allowing the paint to drip. What fun it was watching the paint create texture and drips! I first used my DecoArt Americana Acrylics and then decided to accent with the new Media Misters. Each time the paint created a new variation. To me this background appeared as a misty field of flowers calling for the foreground flow- ers and butterfly.
I love using analogous colors and decided to use pri- marily blues and blue greens. For your painting you could use any analogous colors, three to five colors beside each other on the color wheel, to create a pleasing color har- mony. Have fun trying different analogous colors.
