CHECKLIST
z Be wary about what you read on the internet about legal issues - some are accurate, some are not.
z Look for a specialist in the area in which you need help. The law is not stagnant and changes occur regularly. If a lawyer doesn’t specialise in a particular area, they may not be up to date.
z Most law firms, and many accountants, will provide an initial meeting at no cost. Get to know an advisor, ensure they have good knowledge of ways to help you with your problem.
z Don’t put off or avoid dealing with issues, gaining knowledge of the business and the business structure or knowing how to protect your own financial security. The more knowledge you have, and the better you can communicate with family members, and the more likely that issues can be resolved amicably.
