“I realized her entire family was watching,” he said, “but everyone was very happy, and it was well received.”
Audrey said she had no idea Gary would propose at that time.
“I was thinking, ‘This is such a great day,’ and then it got even better,” she said.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, they went on a truncated honeymoon at a family friend’s lake house, but they are still saving for an excursion to the Mediterranean.
The pandemic has made them focus on treasuring each other.
“Getting married gives me a sense of partnership and always knowing I have someone,” said Gary. “We’ve discovered new things about each other and new ways of thinking.”
Audrey and Gary Mitchell wed roughly five years to the day they met.
