Nedra considers Owens quite the modern gentleman. Though he courted her and proposed the traditional way, they did agree that Nedra should keep her last name and that they would each keep the properties they own.
They spend most of their time at Owens’ farm, but Nedra can often be found at her home in Bishop gardening and maintaining the property she will one day leave to her children.
Both Nedra and Owens had been married for 59 years to their respective spouses and admit that life with someone new took some getting used to, but it has become a new blessing. They even visit the graves of their previous spouses together knowing they would approve of the new bond they have created.
Nedra is reflective and offers this advice to those that find themselves widowed: “Don’t rule out finding happiness again.”
