Aspiring chef credits
culinary chops to 4-H

Oconee County High School graduate Alicia Carnes often knocked the socks off 4-H judges with her savory and sweet dishes. When she was president of Oconee County 4-H, Carnes competed in land, wildlife, forestry and poultry judging contests. Cooking was and continues to be her specialty. In fact, she plans on enrolling in culinary school.
“4-H really did help me realize my passion for cooking and baking,” said Carnes, who joined the organization in the fifth grade. “Without it, I wouldn’t have realized how much I love it.”
