O n March 15, BOSS unveiled its
Spring/Summer 2023 runway
collection before a group of more than
500 guests. Choosing the electric city of
Miami as its backdrop, the new assortment explores the creative enigma found when exploring opposing states.
“The BOSS Spring/Summer 2023 collection is a fluid revisitation of the brand’s heritage tailoring,” said Marco Falcioni, SVP of Creative Direction at HUGO BOSS. “One of the underlying motifs that inspired the collection is the exquisite tension that lies between contrasting elements, such as solid and fluid states, land and sea, opaque and transparent, past and present.”
At their core, these pieces flex. They could just as easily be worn by someone with a classic modern style as they
could by the internet’s newest it-girl. Even BOSS’s styling reflects this sense
of malleability. The new pieces seem
to constantly shift as they’re layered together—creating new textures and unique visual intrigue.
Core pieces all work to highlight
the genius of BOSS tailoring and innovation—a plethora of suiting,
trench coats, and trouser options were interspersed with structured midi dresses and maxi skirts while fabrics ranged from silks to sheer nylons, and crinkled knits. Subtle prints were presented throughout, including classic pinstripes.
The brand’s signature tones of black, white, and camel were mixed with warm, powdery hues that mimic Miami’s Art Deco architecture, and the
overall set design had a modern, aquatic theme.
“This powerful juxtaposition serves as the cornerstone of a new exploration in prints, tones, and textures, opening the door to a world that invites a creative, visual dialogue. It is
a sartorial reflection in looking back to
move boldly forward into the future and
embody the spirit of a true BOSS,” says
Falcioni.
The spirit of juxtaposition carried
through to casting as well, resulting in a
star-studded, diverse group of celebrities
and athletes. Canadian actress Pamela
Anderson opened the show, with iconic
supermodel Naomi Campbell following
not too far behind.
Other familiar faces on the runway
included celebrity stylist Law Roach,
rapper and producer DJ Khaled, and Syrian swimmer Yusra Mardini, whose biopic film The Swimmers premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. Meanwhile, front row attendees featured a range of talents from across the creative spectrum, including Maluma, Demi Lovato, Charles Melton, Suki Waterhouse, Lucien Laviscount, and Tiffany Haddish.
BOSS’s latest collection is now available online at boss.com and in-store at BOSS retail points around the globe.
