that makes sense has always been a a a a a a a a a a a a super intimidating concept for me Having an an an office to to to go to to to every day (pre-pandemic) made it incredibly easy to to to to ignore the the appearance o of my living space I never felt the the urge to to invest in in in in in in in it it beyond keeping it it tidy and organized After spending more time in in in in in my apartment than I I ever had had before I I I quickly realized that many of of of the the objects I I I had had accumulated did a a a a a a a a a a a a poor job of of of reflecting my personality And with the the the surge of of of home decor Instagram shops not only in in in in Toronto but around the the globe I I I felt more encouraged to to to to embark on on on a a a a a a a a a a a a quest to to to to figure out what I I I I was interested in in in in in in in adding (or replacing) in in in in in in in in my home Before getting started I I I had to to to to strike down the impulse to to to buy everything I I wanted at once and instead turn my my my focus toward evolving my my my living space To get inspired I I looked to to to to to my my my wardrobe which has taken a a a a a a a a a long time to to to to refine and and develop It took years to to to to buy less and and invest in fin in in quality pieces that that that brought me me me long-term joy I I I realized that that that this was was the the element missing from my my living space I I was was purchasing items that that that were were purely functional and not doing my my research to see if they were were something I’d enjoy in in in in in the long run With this in in in in in in in in mind I I I prioritized my living and dining areas which I I I painted all white to to to get a a a a a a a a a a good idea of what needed to to to change I I decided to to to focus on scoping out investment furniture in in in in in in neutral colours and and and complementing it it it with fixtures and and and objects featuring pops of of colour colour such as royal blue and and red The transformation process of my home has been slow but fulfilling It’s It’s not nearly where I I I I want it to to be be and and I’ve learned to to take take my time and and take take pleasure in in in in in in the the the process It’s It’s also reaffirmed the the the concept of investing in in in in in in in in a a a a a a a a a a thoughtful way—whether it’s for furnishings or or clothing—and strengthened my belief that not giving in in in in in in in to to the the the the the impulse to to buy the the the the first thing thing you see produces the the the the most beautiful and and rewarding results SAHAR NOORAEI
