The Smiths—Manchester has long been revered for its rich cultural tapestry. Inspired by
the iconic musical city, CHANEL’s latest Métiers d’Art collection celebrates the love story
between French and British style codes. Presented at dusk on Thomas Street in North
Manchester, tweed coatdresses and suits in vibrant shades of blue, lilac, and apple green—
and a brown hue inspired by Manchester’s brick architecture—capture the energy of the
city, while knitwear in Shetland and cashmere echoes the effortless sartorial sensibility of
the English countryside. Each look is enhanced by the craftsmanship and expert handiwork
of Le19M, with buttons, hats, pleats, and footwear all playing an integral role in showcasing
the artisanal but innately cool character of the collection.
