Harry’s EVP of digital & strategy Ian Rosen shares his holiday wish list and tips on the new travel wardrobe and heavy-duty winterwear
The holidays are coming up. What’s made it on to your wish list this year?
Nothing says holiday like the perfect sweater. This year, I’m hoping (hint, hint, Kate) for another heavy sweater jacket in my wardrobe. Skip the ugly sweater! The “swacket” from Maurizio Baldassari in camel or forest green is a statement piece that can be dressed up or down to be a holiday season staple. I’m also looking to up my slipper game. With so much more time spent at home, it’s great to have a pair of cozy slippers to keep at the front door. With options from Church’s and BOSS, it’s going to be a tough choice!
Speaking of gifts, what do you recommend for the guy who has everything?
Treat him to something special! A special belt from Salvatore Ferrag- amo or TOM FORD with a statement buckle is always a hit and can com- plete an outfit. Or try getting him a new fragrance to work into his routine. I’ve been enjoying playing around with some of the exciting fra- grance options for both the everyday and special nights out; Creed’s new Viking Eau de Parfum is a new take on a signature scent that looks great on any man’s counter.
Winter is also right around the cor- ner. What are the heavy-duty (but
still stylish) outerwear options we need to know about?
As a proud Canuck, I’m loving the out- erwear selection from Kanuk, a Mon- treal brand dedicated to making styl- ish and warm jackets. The colours and details are very on-trend, and the detailing on their parkas, like Sherpa lining in the hood, makes them stand out from the pack. The Dillon Quilted Down Jacket from Parajumpers is a fresh take on a classic style that also keeps you warm. Finally, the iconic Maya puffer from Moncler comes in a range of colours that will help you stand out from the pack.
Travel is back — and we need a whole new wardrobe. What should I wear from the airport to the beach this year?
Let’s start from the top! As a new dad, I need the ballcap to round out the fit. A washed cotton hat from Polo or Parajumpers gives a modern varsity look. Now, sunglasses: the materi- als and frame styles from Brunello Cucinelli × Oliver Peoples are su- per unique and ultra-luxurious. For classic cool shades, you can always make a statement with a pair from Gucci or TOM FORD as well. For the beach, my go-to outfit is a button-up and some linen shorts. You’ll see great options at Harry’s from PAT- RICK ASSARAF, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Eleventy.
