Built for Speed
Breitling releases Endurance Pro 38 for lightweight, durable performance.
By Robyn Bell
If you were left inspired after this summer’s Olympic games, you’re not alone. Whether it be a renewed passion for sports or simply another recurrence of athleisure’s popularity in the fashion world, everyone wants to feel like an Olympian.
Breitling watches have long had a strong connection with the sports world, with advanced technologies developed by the brand for an array of extreme athletic feats including diving, hiking, and even space travel. It’s also had 140 years to master the combination of style and utility.
The latest addition to the brand’s Endurance Pro collection is built for the professional athlete and amateur sports enthusiast alike, with updates that offer a lighter, more dynamic experience. The Endurance Pro 38 is a
smaller option than the usual 44 mm Endurance Pros. The alternative size is sleek and suitable for everyday use. But it shines when put to the test.
Made with ultralight Breitlight®—the patented material is nearly
six times lighter than stainless steel, and three times lighter than titanium—the watch’s casing is hypoallergenic, non-magnetic and scratch proof. As a professional Breitling watch, the Endurance Pro 38 uses a thermocompensated SuperQuartz movement, making it more accurate than conventional quartz, and a COSC-certified chronometer for the most precise time. It’s water-resistant up to 100 metres, has a tactile rubberized crown for quick adjustments, and can even take the pulse of an athlete.
“This is a watch that was built to swim, bike, run, and keep up with you no matter the intensity of your workout—plus, it looks great as a casual sports chronograph,” said Breitling CEO Georges Kern. “This new size makes it accessible to an even wider range of wearers.”
While it has some serious features, Breitling designers still had fun with this new addition, adding pops of purple, pink, white, light blue, or red to match the straps, crowns, and inner bezel rings, offsetting the black dial.
Designed with athletes in mind, this watch performs as well as
those who wear it—and that’s saying something, given the impressive group of Olympians and Ironman World Champions that make up Breitling’s Triathlon Squad. Jan Frodeno, Daniela Ryf, Lucy Charles- Barclay, and Sam Laidlow take their Endurance Pro watches as they run, swim, and bike for international titles. If you’re looking to emulate a gold-medal athlete, look no further than Breitling’s offering.
