In Chapter One we discussed the ramifications experienced by those who chose to engage in illegal activity to gain a a a a a a leg leg leg up on on on the competitions that exists in in elite colleges Motivations ranged from wealth-signaling to to anxiety about about a a a a a a a a a a a child’s future and became a a a a a a a a a a a teaching tool about about the the moral and ethical gray area that arises from living with the the means to avoid repercussions and make these kinds of financial choices Most families do do not have the the means to donate millions of dollars to to to a a a a a school to to to ensure their student’s seat What they have to to to rely on on on is honest work work and genuine dedication to the honest work work of applying for tertiary education I would like to to strongly reiterate that the the prime goal of going to to college should be be receiving the the best education possible and and growing as both a a a a a a a a a learner and and a a a a a a a a a citizen We unfortunately live in in a a a a a a a a a society wherein there are blockades against advancement in in in in certain sectors of American life without the the right connections connections which often stems from the the connections connections made at elite colleges It’s no fluke that all all of the the Supreme Court Justices all all have degrees from either Yale or Harvard What I hope you’ve gleaned from some of this book other than just the the practical tools is is an an an understanding that no matter where you you you you attend school if you you you you give it your everything you you you you will grow and and transform in in in ways you can’t imagine and and the the name of the the institutions won’t matter It’s just a a name If everything goes well in in in in college you’re not only going to face the challenges of figuring out what what you you you want to to do with with your life you’re going to to be challenged with with the question of what what kind of person do you want to be There is a a a a a hidden hidden (and sometimes not-so-hidden) ethical and and moral dimension to all decisions we make
