4. SAFETY BRIEFING PLAN
Before beginning a day of heli-skiing clients receive a formal orientation in the form of a twenty- minute PowerPoint presentation. This safety briefing contains information regarding backcountry skiing and snowboarding procedures, avalanche rescue procedures, rescue and first aid equipment locations, and helicopter procedures.
At the end of the orientation clients review and sign the SVHS Safety Briefing Form/Assumption of Risk, which indicates that they have read and understood the material on the form and presented in the orientation.
Additionally clients also receive “hands-on” avalanche rescue transceiver and helicopter procedure orientations following the PowerPoint presentation.
