Normalized comparisons of the experimental data along with data from the literature indicate that RCA properties align well with previously reported findings. However, comparing the theoretical model and the experimental results indicates that adjustments may be necessary to modify RCA’s initial response while bending until the onset of cracking.
To align RCA’s use in structural applications with European standards, future research should examine the local bonds between RCA and steel, global behaviors under various loading conditions, and concrete durability. Given urban renewal efforts and the need for sustainable construction materials, concrete mix design adjustments should be explored for partial RCA replacement )at different percentages( and the use of various admixtures should be assessed towards improving RCA’s mechanical properties. Test results from further studies will provide insights into adapting RCA for structural applications in Israel, enabling better integration of recycled materials while enforcing sustainable building practices.
