WHY ECO FRIENDLY FABRICS?
The type of fabric used to make a t shirt or pair
of socks will determine how much enviroronmental degradation it ends up causing - or the practices that reverse it.
Fabric choice directly affects the raw material sourcing, material processing, and end-of-life prospects. ie. can it be recyled or composted?
When it comes to pollution, the fashion industry is one of the largest contributors in the world.
Not only does it pollute, but the materials that make up the fabrics used directly impacts and contributes to the following: consumption of water, microplastic pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, soil degradation, rainforest destruction and landfill waist of epic proportions. The use of plant based fibers, semi- synthetics, and recycled fibers help to reduce this carbon footprint.
