Chris Stephenson began his media career in 2003 at UK comms agency Rocket. In 2005, he moved to parent agency PHD and in 2010, Chris relocated to the shores of Australia where as Head of Strategy and member of the Executive team at PHD he was a passionate advocate
for the importance of culture, thought- leadership and creativity.
He is a strong believer in the mutual benefits of brands engaging people in positive and constructive ways. He truly thinks that considered, creative, digital- integrated, innovative communications create value for consumers, brands and businesses; that reach is not an objective - and that hope is not a strategy.
As an industry thought-leader, Chris has co-written three books on the future of the media industry and the impact of AI on marketing. He is also a regular and respected commentator on the communications industry and has presented on stages at Cannes, Spikes Asia and Australia’s Mumbrella360.
Based in Singapore, Chris is currently the Head of Strategy and Planning for PHD across APAC where he leads thought- leadership, creative and innovative thinking across 18 offices in 15 countries.
James Wong’s dream of becoming a fashion designer never really took off. Instead, he was thrust into the world of graphic design, which later led him into communications.
He believes that communications planning is akin to fashion: tailor made ideas with the right features trigger desire and actions, constantly evolving to consumer’s cultural fancies, yet all these are made to measure — the KPIs and the ROIs of the media world.
Most importantly, he believes that one can never forget the sprinkle of magic — passion and tenacity — which he has brought to his varied portfolio of clients over the last ten years.
