P. 4
The 2020 pandemic, as we all know, forced us into isolation and restricted many activities. Like most other arts organisations, this tested TDP’s resilience and creative flexibility. At this time, the TDP journey is usually consumed by the students recording songs at Sony Music Australia and performing a live concert to celebrate their graduation. Undaunted the students stepped up to the challenges of isolation. A whole new virtual world was discovered as we explored new ways of workshopping, recording, filming, performing and learning. Together, but in isolation, TDP created 19 virtual recordings, video clips and filmed performances for the Virtual concert. 15 of the recordings were originals that bubbled up out of the workshop program. The Virtual Concert can be seen on YouTube here.
The 2020 graduates are Georgia Hudson, Jordyn Richards, Kathryn Luxford, Theoni Marks, Javiera Diaz, Elias Bartholomeo, Eve St John, Ruby Hawken and the band Cosmix, consisting of Yohan Rad, Nick Craig and Max Ogle. Their varied musical styles include pop, musical theatre, modern contemporary, contemporary rock, country and finger picking instrumental guitar.
The TDP is enormously grateful for the support it receives from the Sony Foundation as are the many students from NSW Government high schools who benefit from the program either as graduates or participants.
