Sixth Form Highlights
The Autumn Term in the Sixth Form is a busy but rewarding term. We have welcomed our largest
ever Year 12 cohort made up of existing Seaford and new-to-Seaford students. There has been a lot
of success both inside and outside of the classroom and we have been impressed with how all of our
Sixth Formers have settled back/into Sixth Form life.
Year 12 started the year off with a bang, travelling
down to Calshot on the edge of the New Forest for
their all-important bonding and team building trip.
A few weeks later we then had the wonderful Year
12 ball where parents, students and staff had an
evening full of music, dancing and food to welcome
in the new academic year. It has been wonderful
to see such strong bonds forming between the
students and we look forward to seeing these
develop over the next 2 years.
The Autumn Term of Year 13 has seen the focus
clearly switch to destinations post Seaford. Our UCAS
programme is well underway with over a third of the
year group submitting their UCAS forms already. It
is great to see offers already coming in as a welcome
early Christmas present! BTEC mocks occurred in
late November as the pre-cursor to the BTEC Public
Examinations in January and we wish all those taking
these exams well. The Year 13 mock examinations
occur in late February and students are preparing for
these important mock examinations.
There has been a wealth of co-curricular activities
on offer over the Autumn Term with sport and
performing arts leading the way. Girls have been
able to compete in both hockey and netball during
the term, while boys have enjoyed a tough fixture
list with blocks against some of the top names in
English schools’ rugby. It is often on the pitches
or in rehearsals that lasting memories are made
and friendships forged; there will be plenty more
opportunity for all over the remaining terms.
