Seaford Green: Students Leading the Way in Sustainability
Seaford College has achieved its 3rd consecutive
International Eco-Schools UK Green Flag with
distinction. The Eco-Schools UK Team praised the
college for “creating positive impacts and instilling a
sense of collaborative responsibility.”
Highlights from this term include:
•
Eco-Awareness: Posters featuring Seaford’s 10
Eco-Sense principles and the UN’s 17 Global Goals
for Sustainability were displayed across the school,
spreading eco-council initiatives.
•
Student Voice: Sixth formers followed and
discussed COP29, while the Fairtrade brand’s 30th
anniversary was promoted at a Parents’ Coffee
Morning, where Ted Reece presented on reducing
catering waste.
•
Energy Reduction: During Switch Off Fortnight,
the Prep Eco Council monitored classroom energy
use, adding light-switch reminders throughout the
school.
•
Waste Management: The Senior Eco-Council
tackled litter and improved recycling practices,
helping cut carbon usage.
Looking Ahead:
Seaford’s whole school Green and Sustainability
Week will run from 3rd-7th February, with all year
