What do you study at Seaford?
A Level History, PE and Biology
How did you find the transition from GCSE to Sixth Form?
It was a hard transition (academically) but the teachers are very supportive, they work hard but also ensure you have time for yourself. I discovered that last year, the art of getting the balance right. You’re not happy because you are successful, but happiness leads to success.
How has Seaford supported you over the years?
Academically, my Learning Support lessons with Mr Foster have taught me so much about learning; and the different techniques which help me learn. I’m dyslexic, I might not be able to sit and read a book for 7 hours, but I can read productively for a short period of time. I learnt to read something, highlight it and then write it down in order to help me remember it. I then compare it to the original text, note down what I’ve missed and I keep reading it through. I think I’d like to teach younger children in the future.
What do you feel really passionate about?
History, I’ve had a string of amazing teachers: Mr Griffin,
Mr Stather and Mr Gisby. They know so much and want to make you work for yourself and read more. You want to please them. It’s similar in English with Mrs White. So many of the teachers at Seaford inspire us as students.
