Learning Support
Some children require more support. In these situations, pupils are provided with either one weekly 1:1 lesson, one weekly paired lesson or one weekly booster group lesson. All interventions are provided by a specialist Learning Support Teacher. This provision carries an additional cost but is invaluable if pupils have some form of learning difficulty. In some instances, this will be a diagnosis of Dyslexia or Dyscalculia. For others there may be working memory or processing issues.
Gifted and Talented
Some children require additional extension and classroom differentiation strategies can accommodate this. In addition, we have opportunities for children with exceptional talent in different subjects to be provided with extension activities: the extremely popular Comic Book Club for aspiring artists; termly reading challenges which stretch our resident bookworms as well as the more reluctant readers; an annual Kid’s Literature Quiz for all students to participate in the ‘sport of reading’ to name just a few.
