Summary of Programme for Year 9:
All students get the opportunity
to experience a number of mini projects within a variety of existing materials in the Year 9 DT carousel (including Resistant Materials, Electronics and Graphics). These are linked to subject skills that are further developed at GCSE. Classes are delivered by subject specialists and groups rotate through each of the different areas regularly.
Does the Year 9 course include any elements of the GCSE?
We will touch on some aspects of the GCSE but will mainly be focusing on different topics/skills throughout the year.
Drama

Summary of Programme for Year 9:
Students develop the skills required for the GCSE Drama course through material specific to Year 9. Over the course of the year, this may include: devising short pieces of drama in groups; performing scripted extracts from plays; reviewing a live theatre production; and the study of theatre and film from the point
of view of actor, director and designer. The course involves some written work, but the key focus
will be developing creative and practical performance skills.
