“The peer mentor training was really cool. I thought the way they did the
training was quite clever. We had to say how we would fit the role, talk
about our life experiences and suggest why we would be good at the role.
It will be good for branching out to a wider age group; different types of
people, different social groups. I want to help more in the Senior School
rather than the Prep School as I feel I can do more.”

What leadership roles interest
you in the Sixth Form?
I like being a prefect as you help
the staff in some way, you give
back to the community. We
help with the lunch queue. It’s a
nice thing to do. It’s good to get
experience of responsibility and
how to work in a group when
you’re not the leader. It prepares
you for working with different
people in the future.

What do you like about peer
mentoring?
I have always been closely
connected to No.46 (Seaford’s
wellbeing centre), it’s a great place
to have. I go when I’m stressed
about work or I’m worried about
something. Peer mentors work
with the team at No.46.

Tell us about being a peer
mentor
I’ve enjoyed being a peer mentor.
One of the younger boys’ mother
couldn’t make a particular event
when he was new to the school,
so I took him around and showed
him where everything was. It’s
rewarding to help people.

What is it like so far being
Head Girl?
It’s amazing to have been chosen,
I was shocked when I found out.
It was great to hear that Ollie
was going to be Head Boy. It’s
really exciting. There were a lot of
good candidates. I had so many
people congratulate me, which is
lovely. It’s wonderful to be part of
the community at Seaford. I love
being able to help and inspire
everyone and work with the other
prefects and I have got a great
senior team with me. It’s good
to know that you’re helping to
make school run smoothly. And
it’s obviously a great honour and I
just really enjoy it.
How have previous Head Girls
inspired you?
When you’re younger, you see
the Head Girl sitting at the front
in assembly and you just admire
her. It’s such a big status. Younger
students point you out to each
other and look up to you. Previous
Head Girls have been very
approachable and made a real
difference and that inspires me to
leave a legacy.
