These are plan views as a designer looks down from above. A polarity ridge is located on the bottom portion of each track section. This polarity ridge is indicated in yellow in the diagram. When installing track, the raised ridge of the track sections must be consistent throughout the layout. Track connectors and feed-ins are made so they can only be inserted into the track sections in one way (orientation). This ensures the polarity is consistent throughout the track layout. Some connectors have plastic top covers that can be removed to allow one leg of the connector to swivel or bend to change the polarity line. RECESSED TRACK CAN ONLY BE USED FOR STRAIGHT RUNS.
