Brothers,
Spring Semester
finals are over and
we are in full swing
with Summer Semester.
The Alpha Nu Building
Association has begun a
number of maintenance and enhancement
projects on our chapter house. Recently
completed is a full upgrade and replacement
of our fire alarm panel. The original panel
was dated and not up to current code. We
now have a state of the art panel for our
sprinkler and fire alarm system.
Also completed is substantial work to
eliminate leaks in the four corner peaks
of our specially designed roof. Ongoing
is repair and replacement of a number of
windows and window casings that have
failed in the now 13+ years since we opened
our new house. Many of you may have
heard about a Georgia Tech student who
was seriously injured when he fell from an
overhead bunk bed and spent considerable
time in the hospital and rehab. The ANBA,
by unanimous vote of the board, approved
funds to add bed rails and other structural
enhancements to our 44 beds to help insure
the health and safety of our undergraduate
brothers. These upgrades in all 44 bunks
were completed last semester and have
been warmly welcomed by all of the active
brothers who live in our house.
Lastly, after extensive study and an
exhaustive permitting process by the

Alumni Fernando B. Silva ’75
Spotlight:
Editor’s Note: For this edition of the newsletter
we’re shining the Spotlight on Brother Fernando
Silva ’75. From the hometown of Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil, Fernando moved to Scarsdale, NY when he
Fernando’s 2015 National Championship Trophy. was 12. During his time as an active chapter member
Fernando served as President of the pledge class, and
as Manager and player on fraternity soccer team. As
a Georgia Tech graduate, he earned his Bachelor of
Engineering in Economics Systems, focused on math,
economics and operations research. After starting
out as a sophomore with Kurt Salmon Associates,
37 years of service yielded a strong career as Senior
Partner and a well-earned retirement. Today, he is the
Founding Partner and CEO of Fox Sierra Consulting.
Fernando and his wife, Carol, have been married
for 25 years now and they have three sons, and six
grandchildren. For fun, he enjoys racing cars and
gliders, and catching up with his brothers at Alpha Nu.
What is one of your favorite memories from Fernando flying his glider.

After working there part-time, I became a summer
