appear on our website and social media, as well as via direct communication to you.
In the meantime, please do consider making a donation to Crisis Center North as you would have at C&C. If you have typically attended C&C, an $85 donation (the price of an individual ticket) would be sincerely appreciated. As always – and especially
during these uncertain times – we count on your support in our mission to empower victims of domestic violence and be vigilant in breaking the cycle of violence.
Wishing you and your loved ones all the best in the weeks and months ahead. We sincerely look forward to “seeing” you for our virtual fundraiser on Friday, May 15!
t this time of great concern, we at Crisis Center North hope that you and your loved ones are safe and in good health. While many of us have the great privilege of being able to
practice social distancing and safely quarantine in the security of our own homes, for many victims of domestic violence living with their abuser, this pandemic is a veritable “perfect storm.”
While we are currently dealing with a great deal of uncertainty, there is one sobering reality: Social isolation fuels incidents of domestic violence. The power and control exerted by abusers over their victims can manifest in the following ways during a pandemic:
• withholding anti-viral supplies, such as hand sanitizer and disinfectants
• using the threat of contracting the virus as a “scare tactic” to keep the victims separated from their children or family
• sharing misinformation or “fake news” about the pandemic to frighten and control victims
• preventing them from seeking proper medical attention, if feeling ill or symptomatic
• concealing insurance cards, legal documents, and other necessary materials
WILL YOU HELP PROTECT VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND OTHER VULNERABLE POPULATIONS FROM THE NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC?

Crisis Center North (CCN) counselors and advocates are on the front lines of this crisis, continuing to provide essential crisis services and support to victims 24/7 throughout this pandemic. We are closely
monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, following guidance and precautions from state, federal, and local entities. The following contingency plans have already been implemented for the health and well-being of clients and staff and to ensure continuity of services:
• taking precautions when staff are providing services at government or partner sites
• encouraging staff to work remotely, connecting with clients via phone or secure video conferencing
• employing a rotating, skeletal staff schedule onsite to maximize social distancing
• promoting frequent and thorough handwashing and the use of hand sanitizer if providing off-site services
• increasing thorough daily cleaning measures of all offices and shared spaces
The global nature of this terrible pandemic is a humbling reminder of our common humanity and vulnerability. That is why CCN is determined to continue to be there to support victims and survivors of domestic violence over the weeks and months to come, when they may need us more than ever before. Just as victims need the support of our counselors and advocates, Crisis Center North needs the support of our community – now more than ever.
IF YOU CAN, PLEASE HELP US CONTINUE TO SUPPORT VICTIMS.
