Rechargeable Transponder Package

The transponders are light, compact devices attached to each vehicle. Each transponder
is assigned a unique
identification number
to differentiate individual
vehicles. As the vehicle passes
over the loop antenna, the decoder reads this identification number and determines a crossing time.
The transmitters have convenient LED
indicators for operational status. A green
LED indicates the transmitter is working. A
red LED indicates a low-battery condition - there is no guesswork in determining battery status. During a race, the transmitter is also capable of relaying a low-battery status to the Race Management System and informing the system operator of this condition. The transponder comes with a mount, pouch, and charger.

The unit is preprogrammed; just dial up the track channel. A programmable default channel allows “saving” the channel, while an added button lock eliminates unwanted channel or volume changes. Sold complete with holster clip, AAA battery, and complete instructions. Unit may be purchased separately, or complete with earpiece.

of operation. In transponder
mode, the unit works with the
track’s timing system and
a LapCeiver transmitter, al-
lowing up to five transponders
into the LapCeiver A.L.T., one in each
of the five memory banks. The IR (Infra-Red) mode uses an IR beacon transmitter that is set-up across the track, while an IR detector
is mounted to the car. Once the car passes through the beams, the timing data comes up on the display.
