How do I Setup a SpeedType/Entry Code?

Overview

SpeedTypes reduce the amount of data entry required for accounting entries by populating the ChartField
string for the users across various pages in Compass. Users typically enter the shortcut value and the ChartField
string populates with the exception of the Account field.

SpeedTypes are defined prior to finalizing Award Budgets. The SpeedType needs to reflect the Project
ChartField combination. Pay particular attention to Fund Code, Department, Operating Unit, Project ID and
Activity ID while setting up SpeedTypes. Additionally, code the correct split across departments if more than
one department is sharing the credit for the project.

Setting up a SpeedType

Use one of the following two scripts to navigate to the Award Request page in Compass. You can either navigate through
your worklist or directly come through the Compass pages.
