How do I Delete an Journal Entry Prior to Posting

Overview

If necessary, you can delete a journal entry prior to posting. You cannot delete a journal entry that has posted
to the ledger, nor can you delete a Journal currently in the Workflow process.

Navigation

General Ledger > Journals > Journal Entry > Create/Update Journal Entries

Search for the Journal to Delete

1. To search for a journal, click
the Find an Existing Value tab.

2 2. Enter your Business Unit.. For

to Defining User Preferences.
3. Enter the Journal ID you want

to delete.

If you do not know the Journal ID, you can
search by other criteria, such as Journal
Date.

4. Select a Journal Header Status,
or select the blank option to
5 search all statuses.

5. Click the Search button.

The Header page displays.

1. Click the Lines tab.
2. At the top of the page in the Process drop down, select Delete Journal

3. Click the Process button.

A message displays
