So we decided to Google “car shows near Brantford”, and lo and behold, we came up with a “Classic Car Show” taking place on that Monday, Oct 10, in Cayuga, a half hour drive southeast of Burford.
The location of the car show was at an historic site of the Cayuga estate of the ‘Ruthven’ family and museum, an interesting story in itself.
The Ruthven estate park has a history of 5 generations of an upper class Ontario family since the late 1700’s including both success and discord among the 2 brothers during the 1900’s. The historic site features site tours, nature walks and courses, and many other events during the year, but that day of Thanksgiving, Oct 10, it had a Classic Car Show.
Indeed, there were some 150 cars displayed, all outdoors, in ideal sunny fall weather. The cars varied from model T’s of the 1920’s to some muscle cars of the 1960’s and some ‘souped up’ retro vehicles of the 2000’s.
Please enjoy the photos of some 10 Classic vehicles to the left, and including the short identification of each vehicle.

OUR THANKSGIVING DAY DRIVE TO a Vintage CAR SHOW
This past Thanksgiving Monday, just before attending a Thanksgiving family dinner in Brantford, we went for a drive to ‘Burford’ Ontario, an hour’s drive, southwest of our Mississauga home.
The purpose of our motor trek was to visit a ‘vintage’ car show, which was part of the annual Thanksgiving country fair in Burford.
Indeed, when we arrived at the 160th annual Burford country fair, the friendly entry staff to the fair grounds informed us of other fair activities included a petting zoo, a horse show, a raptor bird of prey show, a roping competition; but, no classic car display, as the car show had taken place the day before, on Sunday, and today was Monday.
How disappointing !!
