"I will have to adjust my insulin intakes to prevent hypoglycemia. I would have to run with a little higher blood sugar though not ideal for my body. I am walking with weights on my backpack since I'll have to carry an addition of 20 kg on my back. I am biking to increase my cardio abilities, and next week I am going to start my climb training at Mount Nemo Conservation Area.”
Her mission is to inspire others who have the disease, to help educate and empower them, she said.
“Unlike other aspects of life, I may not be able to control, giving back to the T1D community allows me to choose where and how to make a difference. It’s easy to get inspired with a cause you truly care about and it’s rewarding to see your direct impact.”

With the help of the dedicated staff at Blyth Academy, my daughter was accepted into every Canadian university to which she applied, as well as five European universities — all with scholarships. This doesn’t happen without excellent teachers and great leadership.
