Proceed with Caution!
As the COVID lockdown is easing, there are many more open houses taking place. The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TREEB) has some important advice for home sellers I thought I would share with all of you.
5 Tips for Keeping Safe When Selling Your Home
1. Guard your house key lockbox – even from yourself. The fewer people who know the code the better. And never give the passcode to anyone.
2. Scan the perimeter of your home. After any Open House or showing, do a quick scan of entrances, doors, and windows to make sure they are all locked securely in case someone left one open for access.
3. No Realtor – No Entry. If someone comes to your property and says they are interested in buying, give them your realtor’s number. Never let someone in and show your property without your realtor being present.
4. Use caution with email. It’s important to keep safe online. Scammers are increasingly savvy in identity theft. If you receive a suspicious email or text from your brokerage asking for personal information or anything you wouldn’t give over email, follow up by calling your realtor directly.
5. Communicate! Let your realtor know about any safety concerns you may have. They are there to keep you safe and make the selling process as comfortable as possible. Lean on their experience.

Time to Go Out and Explore!
Toronto is an amazing city. Did you know....
Historic Windfields
The Windfields neighbourhood is located on the former site of the Windfields Farm founded in 1937, part of the Estate of E.P. Taylor, a legendary Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist. It was one of the top thoroughbred racing stables in North America. The neighbourhood is bounded by the 401 on the north side, Lawrence on the south, and between Bayview and Leslie.
In 1968, E.P. Taylor sold most of his Windfields estate to developers while donating 30 acres of land for Windfields Park. The E.P. Taylor mansion was gifted to the city. In 1988, it became the home of the Canadian Film Centre founded by Norman Jewison.
Windfields is a predominantly upper-middle income neighbourhood, popular with young families. There are many pluses to living in this area:
Edwards Gardens, one of Toronto’s prettiest and famous parks, forms part of the southern boundary (near Lawrence and Bayview). Windfields Park runs through the centre of this neighbourhood and has a walking trail that follows the course of Wilket Creek.
Easy access to the Yonge Street subway, the 401 and DVP makes this an even more desirable neighbourhood.
Now that I’ve got you thinking, I am a firm believer in seeking expert advice. In this modern, digital era there are some things where partnering with someone, person to person, with long- time experience is key to a successful outcome.
Lean on my experience!
