3. Take Downtime
Unplug together with a game! Put all devices away, and take some time to relax. Enjoy a board game, card game, or one of our personal favorites, Mission: Small Bits of Happiness, which is designed by both of us. Mission: Small Bits of Happiness features 100 unique and fun activities to do to feel happier daily, allowing you and your child to bond together and learn what brings happiness.
4. Build A Care Kit
Since helping others boosts feelings of purpose and satisfaction, create a care kit. With a budget of $10-15, (or whatever you decide) head to a local grocery store and compile a small care kit of necessities. These can include toothpaste, a travel toothbrush, a bar of chocolate, and chapstick. Bring one (or a few!) of these care kits to a shelter and feel good by supporting other people and building a charitable tradition with your child.
5. Create Time To Do Things Together
Most families have busy schedules. When you are unable to actively participate in the interests of your teen, still find time to create a connection. Here is a list of some of our favorite time-friendly activities to do with our family:
1.Goforawalkorabikeride. 2. Go to a golf range. 3. Play basketball outside or at a local gym. 4. Attend a yoga class, or follow a guided video at home. 5. Follow an online crafts tutorial and make a craft together. 6. Read a few chapters of your child’s book of choice
and discuss the events (like a mini book club!). 7. Play a round or two of your child’s favorite video game. 8. Try your best at your child’s sport of choice.
