Vision of Sugarplums (VOS) Nonprofit in Pottsboro, Texas
Vision of Sugarplums is a 501(c)3 organization based in Pottsboro, Texas that provides breakfast and lunch foods during extended school breaks and on weekends to students in the Pottsboro Independent School District who qualify for the free or reduced-cost meal program. Since Christmas vacation 2003, children and teens in the Pottsboro Independent School District have received nutritious, pre-packaged breakfast and lunch food provided by Visions of Sugarplums (VOS) volunteers during the winter break, spring break, and summer break.
Rod Leird, Assistant Professor of Management and Marketing in the John Massey School of Business, was a founding board member who continues to serve. Rod shared that VOS typically serves over 100 students during each break. The support of the community for this organization has been overwhelming.
