• If it is your choice to move, you will be moved from the Homeless HAP to regular HAP. See section 3.3.
• Once you have given your notice to your landlord you will have to find a new place to live. See section 4.
• Werecommendyougetyournew‘HAPpack’(seesection3.7) before you start to look for a new home.
• Regular HAP does not pay the deposit. We advise saving & having the first month’s rent + deposit, in case there are any issues with transferring your HAP.
• If you have been given a notice of termination and are in danger of becoming homeless, you can apply for homeless HAP again.
 3.15 Ending your tenancy
If you wish to end your tenancy you must give a ‘notice of termination’ by letter. Email, text or verbal notice is not valid under the law. The amount of notice you must give depends on how long you have lived in your home. The normal notice periods are below.

Less than 6 months 28 days
  Not less than 6 months but less than 1 year 35 days
More than 1 year but less than 2 years 42 days
  More than 2 years but less than 4 years 56 days
 More than 4 years but less than 8 years 84 days
8 years or more   112 days
