Who can apply for a Sanctuary Scholarship?
Persons who are or who have been in the International Protection process, and who have permission to reside in the State and to study, and ineligible for state support.
Immigrants in an irregular situation who are engaging with the Minister of Justice to regularise their status (including undocumented), and ineligible for state support.
Are you required to undertake an English Language exam?
Not necessarily, but you will have to show that you have a sufficient level of English to participate in this course. e.g. you may have undertaken previous education through English. If you cannot provide evidence or demonstrate the required level of English you may have to undergo a language test.
What does the scholarship include?
Fee waiver
Maintenance grant of €3,000
Any Other Relevant Information
You must have applied through the CAO having completed a Leaving Certificate, a QQI Qualification, or an Access Programme. See www.cao.ie or page 12 for further information.
Only new entrants considered, not 2nd or 3rd year students.
