LETTER FROM THE BOOSTER CLUB PRESIDENT
Dear Charlotte Latin Family:
Thank you to the Latin community – students, teachers, coach- es, staff and families – who have worked together to give our spring student-athletes outlets to express themselves on social media and beyond. Even when we were restricted from being together, we were all still one team.
Our hard-working group of volunteer board members has worked tirelessly with our student-athletes recognition in mind. As we all remained on lockdown since spring break and sporting schedules were suspended and ultimately cancelled, we have been creatively ensuring that our spring sport ath- letes know how much we value them. With the help of parents, an amazing group of coaches and the Charlotte Latin athletic department we are able to recognize and honor those athletes and teams in this magazine.
The Hawkspys, our annual awards event, became a virtual cel- ebration on May 19. Even without the red carpet we were able to share our appreciation and honor our senior athletes, varsity teams and coaches. The atmosphere of the night illustrated the energy and creativity of the Charlotte Latin community. Thank you to all that made the evening possible!
As I finish my year as head of this wonderful organization, I invite all our Latin Families to get involved with Latin athletics. Join the CLS Booster Club. Be a part of strengthening the CLS culture
of athletic involvement throughout the school. Remember that almost 90% of our student body participates in Latin athletics.
There is something amazing in this community that shines in the sportsmanship and camaraderie of our student-athletes – even when they cannot compete on the actual fields – they take joy in being a Hawk.
Let us look forward to future seasons of play for all our athletes and all of us as spectators. Thanks to our amazing seniors who have shared their talents with us over the years and helped make so many special memories.
