   SPRING COLLEGE COMMITS
                                                           WORTH HINSHAW
CROSS COUNTRY & TRACK
Worth is driven. He pushes himself to be a better athlete, and he leads and motivates others through his hard work. He also helps build team camaraderie by bringing the young athletes and the veterans together. Worth has had a difficult senior year with an injury setback in cross country that he had finally fully overcome heading into the spring track season, which was cut short after only two meets by the coronavirus pandemic. Yet he’s never felt sorry for himself or changed his attitude, which speaks well for the kind
of adult he will become. Worth will continue to compete for the Big Red at Denison University.
RJ says athletics have taught him that if you work hard, it will show. He loves the journey of striving to be the best he can be. RJ’s work ethic is remarkable. He prepares mentally
and physically every day, all the while welcoming and thriving on instruction from coaches. RJ under- stands that great players are great teammates. His energy, enthusiasm, and leadership are contagious. Senior year RJ surpassed the 1000-point milestone, leading his team all the way to the finals of the state championship. He was selected as 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-State, and 2nd Team All-Observer. He will attend the College of the Holy Cross.
Bennett loves the sheer strength, athleticism,
and physicality football requires, combined with the tactical aspect of technique and strategic play-calling. Bennett was a true leader and we could always depend on him to give us his best. He trusts the process, and he is an extension of the coaching staff. Defensively, Bennett gave us a tremendous advantage since offenses had to prepare for him
to come off the edge or drop back into coverage, and he contributed 49 tackles, two sacks, and an interception. Bennett will head to Philly next year to play for the Quakers at the University of Pennsylvania.
Charles says football has taught him more about himself and about life than anything else he has done. He loves that competition can truly bring out the best in you. He stepped into
the quarterback role four games into the season after an injury to a teammate,
yet still managed to put up nearly fifteen hundred yards passing, plus 220 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns. He held himself and his teammates accountable
to the standards the team set before the season and did whatever it took to give his team the opportunity to win. His versatility and his toughness define him as
a football player. Charles heads to Furman University next year.
Taylor first competed in track as a seventh grad-
er after watching family friends compete and think- ing they looked “super cool.” Taylor’s favorite aspect of the sport are the relays
and says there’s no better feeling than winning an event with his teammates. His coaches describe Taylor as a fierce competitor who is very driven and has a great work ethic. Coach Taye said, “Taylor enjoyed a lot of individual success in the sprint events and was always enthusiastic about helping his team on relays.
I really enjoyed seeing him grow into a leader in our program, and he will be missed.” He will join Boston College in the fall.

Abby became involved in field hockey in Lower School through Latin’s summer camp offerings and was excited to join the team in seventh grade. As a ninth grader, Abby made varsity for field hockey and also decided to try track in the spring – a decision she says was one of the best she made at Latin. She’s loved the camaraderie of both teams and has enjoyed being part of three state championships in field hockey. Her coaches say Abby is committed to con- tinuous improvement and is a very supportive and uplifting teammate. Coach Williams said as a field hockey player, “Abby is smart and versatile on the forward line. She reads plays well and knows right where to be to put the ball in the goal. She will be a success at the collegiate level because of her dedication and hard work, and we look forward to watching her shine!” Abby will continue her dual-sport career next year while studying at Kenyon College.
