VOLLEYBALL RECAP
VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
The Varsity Girls Volleyball team finished the season with their heads held high and excited for the future. This team had one overarching goal: to be ‘All In’ throughout every single day. This team was filled with a lot of youth and was led by incredible senior leaders Maddi Rhodes, Millie Patterson and Julie Derraik. We had a senior setter sitting out for the majority of the season but sophomore Serena Hu stepped up into the new position with confidence in her teammates and brought a spirit to the court that led the team’s offense. The highlight match of the season was a 5-set battle against Metrolina and the Hawks fought till the end to take the 4A WIN!
JUNIOR VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
2021...what an amazing season our JV volleyball team had this year! Captained by Sophia and Emily, our team of mostly freshmen was inspired to work hard each day and trust each other on and off the court! Volleyball is truly a team sport, and we could not have had better leaders! In the middle, we had our two powerful, extremely versatile players: Camille and Emily. Our setters Annie and Talia were true quarterbacks of the team, who dealt with the pressure of making game-time decisions so confidently! Mari, Sydney, Madison, Holdyn, Maddie, Rheaa, and Zoe made huge progress in hitting and ball handling! Lastly, a major shoutout to our Libero, Hannah! Some of the most exciting digs and consistent serve receive came from your efforts! The word of the season is PROUD!
8TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL
8th grade volleyball had a terrific season! Their continued growth and development over the season was impressive. This team competed in every match we played in. We were led by super strong serving, passing and blocking. Not only did this team devel- op volleyball skills, they also understood the concept of teamwork and sportsmanship. Great job, volleyball Hawks!
7TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL
The 7th grade volleyball team was a cohesive and supportive group who learned a ton this season and supported each other every step of the way. The players developed their serving, passing and hitting, as well as new friendships and a passion for the game. Highlights of the season included exciting wins against Charlotte Country Day and Charlotte Christian.
SENIOR NIGHT VOLLEYBALL
The strength of the team is each individual mem- ber. The strength of each member is the team.
