    BOYS SOCCER RECAP
   VARSITY SOCCER
Our theme this season was “Dare to Care,” and these boys did just that. We played a very challenging schedule including early games against Carmel Christian and Wesleyan, and made it to the finals of the Ravenscroft tournament. There were several tight games that could have gone either way. One of the best things about the season was the incredible student support. A highlight was our student section at our away game with CCDS that helped push our guys to a huge 4-1 win that night. As has been our mantra, we played an exciting style of attacking soccer that all fans enjoy to watch. This was my final season coaching boys’ soccer as I am retiring at the end of the year, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group. They played their hearts out every night!
JUNIOR VARSITY SOCCER
What a great surprise we had this season with the JV boys soccer team! The boys were very dedicated and worked extremely hard in practice sessions this season, giving 100% every time. The team developed a great understanding and chemistry together, creating a strong bond on and off the field. The team displayed great qualities and discipline that showed throughout the season. The boys played some outstanding soccer showing skill, resilience and deter- mination – they were very entertaining to watch once again proving that soccer can be a beautiful game. The team only lost one conference game this season, and I could not be any prouder of this group of young men this season for the commitment and dedication that they have shown to each other and to the JV boys’ soccer team.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCCER
The 2021 Middle School boys’ soccer season can be characterized in one word: growth. Growth in technical and tactical skills, growth in character, and growth in teamwork. Although there were a few setbacks, the boys worked hard and measured their success in progress, not final outcomes. They were dedicated to the process of playing “Latin style soccer” and were playing their best soccer at the end of the year. Despite losing twice to the #1 seeded Providence Day, the boys challenged them in the playoffs until the final moments. All season long the boys worked on passing with two touches, distributing wide, crossing neg- ative balls, and playing with “burst ramming speed”. The final goal scored this season was a beauty - it combined all of these elements into one culminating moment. Most importantly, the boys ended the season playing as one cohesive unit rather than 11 individual players on the field, a true testament to the bonds of teamwork that developed over the course of the season. The boys ended the season as more than just soccer teammates, but friends who enjoyed playing soccer together.
