VARSITY FOOTBALL
The 2021 Varsity Football team had one of its best years in recent history, starting the season 7-0 and having a #1 NCISAA ranking going into week eight. The football team was picked last in the preseason conference polls, but competed every week and finished the season 8-3 and made the Division I playoffs. The Hawks were 5-0 at home this year and had signature wins over Charlotte Christian and Christ School. The team had a great group of seniors that worked very hard and led on and off the field. The coaching staff is incredibly proud of this team.
JUNIOR VARSITY FOOTBALL
Scheduling JV football games this season was very challenging. Probably because they were a good team! They finished the season with a merely flawless record of 4-1! As a group, this team really cared for each other and held one another accountable. They worked hard, learned a lot, and several players had an opportunity to participate in the varsity games. That experience and the bond that these teammates formed will benefit the Latin football program for the next few years to come.
MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL
The Middle School football team finished the season with a record of 2-4. The season’s highlights were two resounding wins against Country Day by a combined score of 70-0. The team was very competitive in every game and showed great improvement over the course of the season. The team was led by 8th graders Banks Cutter, Dallas Chapman, and Wills Hutchin- son, but also got contributions from a very talented 7th grade group. The 7th graders dominated every 5th quarter during the year and defeated both Cuthbertson and Hickory Grove in scrimmages.
