Chapter 8 Serenity
Serenity is the Mermaid I call Myself...ME!!! (in Mermaid slang....it means....”creative, giving and loves the ocean) After I had written numerous poems for others and rather enjoyed it, I thought why not write one for myself? I wrote this poem, as I did my books, so my children will always have something tangible in their hands for themselves and their children and grandchildren to remind them of our very short time together that God allowed us to have.
Serenity is the part of me that I strive to be. Everyone has that within themselves..the Mermaid they what to be. When I write poems for people I ask them to name 15 things about themselves or their loved one that they
would want everyone to know. It is such a joy to read those things and try to use them all in such a way that
would truly honor that person with a bit of humor added from time to time. Let me say on “Serenity” I embellished the story so to speak...the Mermaid I
would hope to be one day!
