   CROSS COUNTRY RECAP
    VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY
The teams completed the season with the NCISAA 4A Championship on Halloween. The boys’ team finished seventh and the girls’ team came in first place, earning the program’s fifth state title and its first since 2010. Leading the way for the Hawks was sophomore Emilio Llerenas-Soto, who finished 25th in the boys’ race in 17:31.0, and junior Mary Schle- usner, who finished fourth in the girls’ race in 19:14.1. Her top 11 finish earned Mary All-State recognition for the third consecutive year. Coach Weiss was also recognized as the NCISAA Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY
This year’s middle school runners handled the unusual 2020 season with aplomb and good cheer. Frequent rain limited the first weeks of practice, and despite the strong possibility at the season’s start of no races, the athletes ended up, thankfully, with frequent chances to com- pete and display their improving speed and endurance.
SENIOR NIGHT CROSS COUNTRY
Don’t aspire to be the best on the team. Aspire to be the best for the team.
