2Contemporary house
Breif: To build a contemporary holiday villa for a couple.
Proposal:
A urban design consist of two juxapotions of horizonal rectan- gles accompanied by one verical rectangle as footing anchored into the groud. As one end of vertical rectange is built with staircase climbing the entrace to the building, the other end provides a beautiful view of the woods. Featuring a flat roof, open kitchen, the entire building is consist of steel framing bolted in concrete which supports the building .
Polished concrete forms the floor of kitchen and continues out to the front terrace providing a sense of continuity between interior and exterior. kitchen provides another external concrete staircase connects to kitchen to the second floor.
This concrete floored comtemporary house encompasses of minimal floor to eiling pivoting windows that provides view of the wood and also allows air circulation into the house when it is open. Although this holiday house was design for a couple, i kept the space such as the living room very open in order to allow the space to be entertained by larger group of people. The aim was to ensure all three floors are visibily open, upper third floor bedroom has access to an internal balcony that overlooks the dinning space. Furniture and fitting throughout the space is selected to complement a clean and minimal aesthetic finish.
