5. Extension to Art
Do you know who Diego Rivera was?
Diego Rivera and his twin brother, Carlos, were born in 1886 in Guanajuato City.
Rivera began to draw when he was only three years old. He loved to draw so much, his father even covered the walls of his room with paper so he could make his drawings.
When he was 10, Rivera began to use paints. He took art classes after school. Soon he decided to become a painter.
Rivera studied art at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts, where he learned about the art of the Mexican Indians. Rivera enjoyed painting the differences between rich
people and poor people.
He is famous for drawing huge pictures on walls wich are called murals.
