3. Is, Are and Am
The words is, are, and am are verbs that tell us about something that is happening now.
We use is to tell about one person or thing. We use are to tell about more than one. We only use am with I.
Examples:
The girl is smelling the flower.
My brothers are reading their books. I am studying for my exam.
