1. PREWRITING
Chose your topic.
Make an outline.
Find information about your topic trying to use as many sources as you can,
Use index cards to write the information you find most interesting; this will help you organize your ideas; don’t forget to cite each source.
a) On one side write the information.
b) On the other side write where you got the information from.
Native Americans in the United States are the indigenous people in North America.

You should begin your outline by writing the Roman numeral I, followed by the word “Introduction”; from the information on the index cards choose the one that will be your strong statement (thesis), here you will tell the reader why it is important to read this essay.
Try to add details that will support the main ideas.
NOTE: Remember the outline is only to help you write your final essay, you do not have to write every paragraph in detail, just the main idea. You can add to it later on.
