Punctuation
Every sentence needs to have an end mark or should be punctuated. There are three punctuation marks that are used to end a sentence. These are the following:
Period .
?
!
We use a period to end a statement and a declarative sentence. Example: The rain fell hard and fast and soon put out the fire.
We use a question mark to end a question. Example: What do you see, old Long Ears?
We use an exclamation mark to end an exclamation sentence. Example: Cock-a-doodle-doo!
When we abbreviate a word we should place a period after the abbreviation and we should capitalize the first letter.
